Amapola the cute Filipina who sings with Berne Hall-Mann at the
Kahala Hilton reports that she became reunited with an old childhood playmate from the
Philippines whom she'd not seen for ten years, thanks to this column. The old girlfriend
saw the name, took a chance it was the same Amapola, called her up and they had a riotous
reunion. "You know how it is," said Amapola, "when two females who speak
the same tongue get together." Oh yes, indeed!...Amapola and berne, by the way are
the two entertainers who'll be on hand in Wailuku, Maui Sunday for the dedication
ceremonies of the new Maui County Building. Connie Haines is slated to sing the National
Anthem (what happened to Guido?) and Maui County apparently spared no expense in bringing
in the Barangay Troupe from the Philippines and the Nishizaki Dance Troupe from Japan to

Wailuku...

...Amapola's concert at the New York's Town Hall Saturday night
was a resounding success, apparently. Sending personal congratulatory messages to the
Filipina thrush were Mrs. Imelda Marcos (wife to PI President) and Mrs. Nelson Rockefeller
(wife of NY Governor). The one woman show was promoted by Norman Seaman, the fellow who's
been promoting John Lennon and Yoko Ono in the United States.
